I use either ct100 of rg6 as a minimum but you can get lower loss cables at greater expense.
Is satellite cable the same as tv aerial cable.

I need to move my tv and the satellite cable is not long enough but i do have some aerial coax can i just put the satellite plugs on the other coax cable.

Longer cables let you position the screen on a tv bracket and reach the socket with ease.
The old tv plug would fit on any old bit of coax and i have for a short patch lead used 50 ohm cable however with the plugs and sockets used for satellite if wrong cable is used you can t get the plugs to fit on the cable.
I would hazard a guess that if the cable comes from a dish already and assuming isnt damaged in anyway that it is adequate.
